St. Paul routinely produces: an average length of stay and charges report, a detailed average length of stay and charges report (by APR DRG - Severity for each hospital). Quarterly case mix reports on Medicare charges are produced which allows the Maryland Health Services Cost Review Commission to calculate and forecast Maryland’s position on the Medicare waiver. St. Paul Computer Center has been the vendor of choice for the last sixteen years for the Maryland HSCRC.

The major milestones that St. Paul has completed are:

  1. In 1989, St. Paul began processing data for the HSCRC. St. Paul successfully processed the State Inpatient data on the HSCRC system at NIH using a large remote IBM mainframe.

  2. In 1992, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed and produced the HSCRC’s Psychiatric CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC. St. Paul is currently processing the State Psychiatric data on this system.

  3. 1993, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed, and produced the HSCRC’s Inpatient CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC. St. Paul is currently processing the State Inpatient data on this system.

  4. In 1995, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed, and implemented the HSCRC’s Ambulatory Surgery CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC. St. Paul is currently processing the State Ambulatory Surgery data on this system.

  5. In 1997, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed, and implemented the HSCRC’s Ambulatory Care CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC and handles 2,000,000 abstract records per year. St. Paul is currently processing the State Ambulatory Care data on this system.

  6. In 2000, St. Paul, directly working with the HSCRC and hospital consultants, helped design, program and integrate the new CMI/CPC systems that have replaced the old GIR reimbursement methodologies.

  7. In 2002, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed, and implemented the HSCRC’s Chronic Care CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC.

  8. In 2005, St. Paul, directly working with the HSCRC and hospital consultants, helped design, program and integrate the new statewide APR CMI/CPC systems for inpatient reimbursement.

  9. In 2007, St. Paul successfully designed, programmed, and implemented the HSCRC’s Outpatient CaseMix System, which runs on a large PC and handles 6,000,000 abstract records per year.

  10. In 2008, St. Paul, directly working with the HSCRC and hospital consultants, helped design, program and integrate the new statewide GOR APG CMI/CPV systems that calculates Outpatient reimbursement levels at Maryland hospitals.
